Derrek Rowan

One of the two most powerful wizards in the known world, Derrek has spent the last decade travelling and living in obscurity. When the party tracks him down at the beginning of the story, he is living and working as a blacksmith in a small town in Georg, near the border with Vencari and Namora.

Khanaarre

The first elf ever known to master the human magic called wizardry, Khanaarre has joined Elana’s quest as her friend and advisor. Still very young by elven standards, she is looking to make her name and fortune in the world.

Elana Traiana IV

The only survivor of the deposed Trianum dynasty, Elana has spent the last decade in hiding, gathering allies, and building strength to reclaim her father’s throne. Her only hope of success lies in the chance of recruiting the only wizard in the world who might be strong enough to defeat the wizard who overthrew her father.

Sir Rennin Osh

Once the youngest ever captain of Emperor Trianum’s Iron Guard, Rennin has spent the last decade as Elana’s friend, mentor, and constant companion.

Lord Sir Orland Borgon

One the old emperor’s generals, Orland now serves Elana in the same capacity, and travels with her as bodyguard and advisor.

Veralar Tann

A martial arts master from the mysterious Shan Khul monestaries of Namora, Veralar Tann is a champion of the Vencari dueling and sword-dancing arenas, and was friends with Elana’s father. Now she travels with Elana in search of glory beyond what the arena can offer.

Aemillian Solirius

The most powerful wizard in the known world, the Usurper Aemillian overthrew the Trianum dynasty to lay claim to the magical throne upon which the Vencari emperors sit. Rumors of his decadence and abuses circulate throughout the Compact of Nations, and none save Elana and her most loyal retainers dare oppose him.

Rrii`aa

Elven Sister of Amalai, one of several who have joined Elana’s court-in-exile at Liddarn not to aid her cause but to care for the elves who have joined her. Khanaarre’s favorite of all the elves in the resistance.
